This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Sprout Social data to Supermetrics.
You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.
After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.
Required permissions
To connect Sprout Social to Supermetrics, you need:
- An account that's been provisioned for API by the Sprout Social account owner
- An API token
- Your account's owner should follow Sprout Social's instructions to create this token.
Note that to fetch engagement data for X (Twitter), you need to approve additional permissions.
Query types
Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:
- Posts performance: Measure your social media posts' user engagement.
- Tags performance: List your social media tags.
Connection instructions
When connecting to Sprout Social, you need to give your API key and select a query type when prompted.
- Select the Sprout Social data source on the Supermetrics Hub or in the data destination.
- Enter your API token.
- Give your account a name to recognize the login later if you have multiple logins.
- If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Click Start.
- In your data destination, select the query type to use.
