How to use suggested queries in Google Sheets

With the suggested queries feature, you can get started with your reporting in Google Sheets lightning-fast.

 

Currently, we have suggested queries for the following data sources:

  • Facebook Ads
  • Google Ads
  • Google Analytics 4
  • Facebook Insights
  • Instagram Insights
  • LinkedIn Ads

Query descriptions

Facebook Ads

With the Facebook Stats Monthly Report query for Facebook Ads, you get a view of the following data from your selected Facebook Page from last month:

  • Impressions — The number of times your ads were on screen
  • Amount spent — Amount spent on your ads
  • Clicks (all) — All clicks your ads received
  • CPC (all) — Cost per click

The data pulled from Facebook Ads is split into columns by the Date dimension and further split into columns by the Campaign name dimension.

Google Ads

With the Campaign Performance Month on Month query for Google Ads, you get a view of the following data from your selected Google Ads account from last month:

  • Impressions — Count of how often your ad has appeared on a search results page or website on the Google Network
  • Clicks — Number of clicks for your ads
  • Cost — The sum of your cost-per-click (CPC) and cost-per-thousand impressions (CPM) costs during this period
  • CPC — The total cost of all clicks divided by the total number of clicks received
  • Cost per conversion — The Cost attributable to conversion-tracked clicks divided by the number of conversions

The data pulled from Google Ads is split into rows by Date and further split to columns by the Campaign name dimension. Also, a filter to include only impressions greater than zero is applied to the query.

Google Analytics 4

We have two suggested queries for Google Analytics 4. 


Monthly Traffic Report via Source

With the Monthly Traffic Report via Source query for Google Analytics 4, you get a view of the following data from your selected Google Analytics account from last month:

  • Sessions — The number of sessions that began on your site or app (event triggered: session_start)
  • Bounces — The number of sessions that were not engaged
  • Active users — The number of distinct users who visited your site or app

The data pulled from Google Analytics 4 is split into columns by the Date dimension and further split into columns by the Source / medium dimension.


Monthly Traffic Report via Landing Page

With the Monthly Traffic Report via Landing Page query for Google Analytics 4, you get a view of the following data from your selected Google Analytics account from last month:

  • Sessions — The number of sessions that began on your site or app (event triggered: session_start)
  • Bounces — The number of sessions that were not engaged
  • Active users — The number of distinct users who visited your site or app

The data pulled from Google Analytics 4 is split into rows by the Date dimension and further split into columns by the Landing page dimension.

Facebook Insights

With the Monthly Facebook Engagement query for Facebook Insights, you get a view of the following data from your selected Facebook Page from last month.

  • Comments — Number of comments on the Page
  • Shares — Number of page shares
  • Total page views — Number of times any tabs (e.g. Timeline, photo) of page's profile has been visited
  • Total video views — Total number of times page's videos have been viewed for more than 3 seconds
  • Engagement rate (% of reached people who clicked) — Percent of reached people who engaged with your page or post
  • Likes — The number of times people took the positive feedback action to like a story or post on the page

The data pulled from Facebook Insights is split into rows by Date.

Instagram Insights

With the Monthly Instagram Engagement query for Instagram Insights, you get a view of the following data from your selected Instagram profiles from last month.

  • Story impressions — Total number of times the story has been seen
  • Video views — Total number of times the video has been seen. Returns 0 for videos in carousel albums
  • Comments count — Total number of comments on the media object including replies
  • Like count — Total number of likes on the media object including replies
  • Reel shares — Number of shares of the reel
  • Engagement — Total number of likes, comments, and saves on the media object

The data pulled from Instagram insights is split into rows by Date.

LinkedIn Ads

With the LinkedIn Stats Monthly Report query for LinkedIn Ads, you get a view of the following data from your selected LinkedIn accounts from last month:

  • Impressions — Count of 'impressions' for Direct Ads and Sponsored Updates and 'sends' for InMails
  • Clicks — Count of chargeable clicks
  • Total spent — Campaign cost in the currency of the advertising account
  • Engagement rate — Total engagements divided by impressions

The data pulled from LinkedIn Ads is split into rows by Date and further split into columns by the Campaign name dimension.

Instructions

  1. Open a new Google Sheets file.
  2. Navigate to ExtensionsSupermetricsLaunch sidebar to open Supermetrics. 
  3. Click Suggested queries on the Home tab or on the Queries tab. If you have many queries set up already on the Queries tab, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar to see the suggested queries.
  4. Select a suggested query.
  5. Select the accounts you want to use with the query.
  6. Click Get data to table.
