Criteo Retail Media connection guide

Follow these steps to connect your Criteo Retail Media data to Supermetrics and use your data in any of our data destinations — Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Excel, and Power BI, as well as the Supermetrics API. You can also connect to data sources from the Supermetrics Hub.

Before you begin

Before using the Criteo Retail Media connector, you need:

  • An API user with a client ID and client secret
  • An app with at least Read access for all elements of the Retail Media API. 

To create these credentials, follow our Criteo permissions guide.


Query types

  • Campaign: An overview of the performance of a specific advertising campaign over a given period of time using the Clicks, Impressions, CTR, CPM, Attributed orders, Units, Sales, Cost, CPC, Unique visitors, and Frequency metrics
  • Page type: Campaign data split by Page type
  • Product: Campaign data split by Product
  • Keyword: Campaign data split by Keyword
  • Attributed transactions: Insights into the performance of ad campaigns by attributing conversions to specific advertising initiatives


Instructions

Google Sheets

Make sure you've installed the Supermetrics add-on before you connect.

  1. Open a new Google Sheets file.
  2. Navigate to ExtensionsSupermetricsLaunch sidebar to open Supermetrics.
  3. Click Create new query.
  4. Under Data source, select Criteo Retail Media.
  5. Enter the Client ID and Client secret.
  6. Give your login a name. The name can be anything — its purpose is for you to recognize the login later in case you have multiple logins.
  7. Choose to make this connection shared or private.
  8. Click Start.
  9. Select a query type you'd like to use in your reporting.

Looker Studio

Make sure you've connected Supermetrics to Looker Studio before following the steps below.

  1. Open the Supermetrics Looker Studio data source gallery.
  2. Navigate to Criteo Retail Media and click Start free trial.
  3. You'll see two buttons that read Authorize. If you're using Supermetrics for the first time, click the left-hand one and log in with the Google Account you use with Supermetrics.
  4. Once that's done, or if you've done it before, click the right-hand Authorize button (under "Criteo Retail Media requires authorization to connect to data").
  5. Select a team that has access to the account you want to connect.
  6. Enter the Client ID and Client secret.
  7. Give your login a name. The name can be anything — its purpose is for you to recognize the login later in case you have multiple logins.
  8. Choose to make this connection shared or private.
  9. Click Start.
  10. Select a query type you'd like to use in your reporting, and click Next.
  11. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. To create a report with our template, select Use report template for new reports. To create a blank report, deselect this option.
  12. In the pane's top right, click Connect.
  13. Click Create report.
  14. Click Add to report.

Excel

Make sure you've installed the Supermetrics add-on before you connect.

  1. Open an Excel file.
  2. Click DataShow Supermetrics.
  3. Under Data source, select Criteo Retail Media.
  4. Enter the Client ID and Client secret.
  5. Give your login a name. The name can be anything — its purpose is for you to recognize the login later in case you have multiple logins.
  6. Choose to make this connection shared or private.
  7. Click Start.
  8. Select a query type you'd like to use in your reporting.

Power BI
  1. Log in to the Supermetrics Hub.
  2. In the left-side menu, under Export, click Power BI.
  3. Click Select data source.
  4. Select the Criteo Retail Media data source.
  5. Enter the Client ID and Client secret.
  6. Give your login a name. The name can be anything — its purpose is for you to recognize the login later in case you have multiple logins.
  7. Click Start.
  8. Fill in the query details.
  9. Click Run query to test your query.
The Supermetrics API
  1. Log in to the Supermetrics Hub.
  2. In the left-side menu, under Transform, click Query Manager (API).
  3. Select for Supermetrics API from the dropdown menu next to the page title.
  4. Click Select data source.
  5. Select the Criteo Retail Media data source.
  6. Enter the Client ID and Client secret.
  7. Give your login a name. The name can be anything — its purpose is for you to recognize the login later in case you have multiple logins.
  8. Click Start.
  9. Fill in the query details. See detailed instructions on how to set up a Supermetrics API query in Query Manager.
  10. Click Run to test your query.
Supermetrics Hub
  1. Log in to the Supermetrics Hub.
  2. In the left-side menu, select ConnectData sources.
  3. Scroll down to the list of data sources you haven't connected to. You see this list below your existing connections, under the title Connect to new data source.
  4. Hover over the Criteo Retail Media data source, and click Connect.
  5. Enter the Client ID and Client secret.
  6. Give your login a name. The name can be anything — its purpose is for you to recognize the login later in case you have multiple logins.
  7. Click Start.
