Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings data to Supermetrics.


You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.


After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.


Required permissions

Before using the Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings connector, you need to have a client ID and a client secret to access the Nielsen DAR API.


To get these credentials, reach out to your Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings representative and ask them to create and share the credentials with you.


Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:

  • Audience profile: Pull lifetime campaign data split by demographic groups
  • Site: Pull lifetime campaign data split by sites

  • Platform: Pull lifetime campaign data split by platforms

  • Population: Pull the Population base for each demo segment in order to calculate population share metrics, such as Audience reach.


Connection instructions

When connecting to Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings, you need to provide your client ID and client secret.

  1. Select the Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings data source on the Supermetrics Hub or in the data destination.
  2. Enter your Nielsen email address and password.
  3. Enter your client ID and client secret.
  4. If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.
  5. Click Start.
  6. In your data destination, select the campaigns to include in your reporting and a query type to use.
