How to use data blending in data warehouse and data lake transfers

The data blending feature allows you to effortlessly blend data from multiple data sources and transfer the data into one or multiple tables in your data warehouse or data lake. In this article, we'll show how to set up data transfers using the data blending data source.

Before you begin

Before these steps, make sure you have created at least one data blend. If you haven't yet created a blend, see our support article on how to create and manage data blends. Note that the data blending connector is available in Table Manager and the Transfers page only after you have created at least one blend.

After you have created a blend, follow these steps to set up a data transfer to your data warehouse destination.

Instructions

  1. Create a custom table group in Table Manager to define which tables and fields you want to transfer. If you're unfamiliar with how to build a custom table group, follow these steps.

  2. Go to the Transfers page on the Hub, select the data blending data source, and create a transfer. For instructions on how to create a transfer, take a look at our article on how to create a transfer.

If you haven't connected Supermetrics to any data warehouse yet, the transfer page will prompt you to create the connection first.

  3. After creating the transfer, run a backfill to fetch historical data to your data warehouse. If you're unfamiliar with backfills, see our guide on how to backfill data.
