This article provides instructions on how to rotate API keys for various data sources used with Supermetrics. Regularly rotating API keys is a crucial security practice that helps protect your data and prevent unauthorized access. This guide will walk you through the steps for each data source, ensuring a smooth and secure process.
To rotate your API keys, you'll need to revoke or delete your current key and generate a new one to be used in a new connection to the data source. Each data source will have different steps to follow, and each is outlined in the instructions.
Instructions
ActiveCampaign
- Log into ActiveCampaign with your account.
- Go to your Account Settings page.
- Select the Developer tab.
- Select Reset API key.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Adjust
- Log into Adjust.
- Click the Settings icon from the bottom left corner.
- Select Account settings page.
- Select Reset API Token.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Adtraction
- Log into Adtraction.
- Click Account from the left-hand side of the view.
- Select Settings -> API.
- Generate a new API token.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Ahrefs
- Log into Ahrefs.
- Open Account settings → API Keys.
- Click Generate API key.
- Remove the old key from the list.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Awin
- Log into Awin.
- Click on the "API credentials" link in your user menu on the top right corner.
- Click Revoke my API token.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Bambuser
- Log into Bambuser.
- Click Settings and choose Integrations.
- Select API Keys.
- Click three dots on the right hand side of the view.
- Choose delete.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Brevo
- Log into Brevo.
- Select your account from top-right corner of the view.
- Select SMTP & API.
- Select API Keys.
- Select the API key and click Delete API Key.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Capterra
- You will need to reach out to your Capterra account manager to revoke and generate your API key.
Clockify
- Log into Clockify
- Click Preferences from top right corner.
- Go to "Advanced" tab → Generate API key.
- Clockify only stores 1 API key at a time.

DoubleVerify
- Log into DoubleVerify
- Choose Analytics → Data API.
- Click trashbin icon under Actions column.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Everflow
- Log into Everflow.
- From the left menu, expand the menu by clicking on the arrow icon at the bottom.
- From the menu navigate to Control Center → Security.
- Select API key(s).
- Click three dots on the right hand side.
- Choose Revoke

Matomo
- Log into Matomo.
- Click Administration from the top right corner.
- Click the hamburger menu in top left corner, choose Personal → Security.
- Scroll down to Auth tokens.
- Select auth token(s) to be deleted → Click delete from the right hand side.
- Create new API key in the same view.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Meltwater
- Log into Meltwater.
- Choose Account → Meltwater API.
- Revoke.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Moloco DSP
- Log into Moloco Ads.
- Navigate to User settings → API Access.
- Click Reset to generate another API key to replace the previous key.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Omnisend
- Login to Omnisend.
- Open Profile menu → Store settings
- Click Create an API key to create a new key
- Click the trash bin icon to delete the old API key.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Piano Analytics (AT Internet)
- Log into Piano Analytics (AT Internet).
- From top right corner, select See profile
- Select API Keys tab.
- Click the trashbin icon / delete on the API key you wish to delete.
If not possible, click the edit Icon and make sure that the "Enable API key" check box is unmarked.

Rakuten Advertising
- Log into Rakuten Advertising.
- Navigate to Publisher Dashboard.
- Click to APIs in the footer.
- Navigate to the Manage Tokens tab.
- Click Update Token.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Smarp
- Access your company domain settings using the following URL https://{subdomain}.smarpshare.com/#/profile/settings
- Navigate to Access token tab on the left-side menu.
- Create new key by pressing Create new access token button.
- Remove the old key.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Simplesat
- You will need to contact Simplesat support to revoke the key.
- To find the key, log into Simplesat.
- Go to Account settings (Gear icon bottom left corner).
- Account can be found under Account key.
- You can now follow the connection instructions in our connection guide to create a new connection.
Teads
- Log into Teads.
- Click the gear icon in the header to open the Settings screen.
- Click Generate API key in the API keys section.
- Click the edit icon to change the API key name.
- Copy the API key shown under the name of the key.
- Click the trash bin icon remove the old key.

Yext
- Log into Yext
- Go to Developer → Developer console → Choose the app that is associated with your Supermetrics connection
- Click API Credentials tab.
- Scroll down to see API Keys.
- If you only have 1 key there, you need to add another by clicking Add key in order to be able to delete the previous one.
- Press trash can icon to delete and follow the given instructions.
