This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Amplitude data to Supermetrics.
You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.
After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.
Required permissions
You need an API key and secret key in order to connect to Amplitude.
- Open the Amplitude web interface.
- Click Settings in the top right corner and select Organization settings.
- Click Projects in the left sidebar.
- Select the project you wish to connect to.
- Under General, click Show next to API Key and Secret Key.
- Copy the API Key and Secret Key to a secure location.
Region
Amplitude projects are hosted either on Standard server or EU residency server. In order to identify where your project is hosted, open the Amplitude web interface and check the URL:
- app.amplitude.com – Your project is hosted on Standard server.
- app.eu.amplitude.com – Your project is hosted on an EU residency server.
Query types
If prompted, you need to select a query type to pull data.
- Events: Fetch all events across a specified time range, including its values and event properties.
Connection instructions
When connecting to Amplitude, you need to provide your API key and secret key and select the region when prompted.
- Select the Amplitude data source on the Supermetrics Hub or in the data destination.
- Insert the API key and secret key.
- If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Click Start.
- In your data destination, select the region.
