How to use account tagging

The account tagging feature allows you to search, select, and tag accounts based on grouping of your choice on the Supermetrics Hub. This means that you can create dynamic groups for easy access and save time while working on your reports. You can group accounts, for example, by region, client, or use case, to filter output data efficiently.

Account tags can be used in any Supermetrics data destination when creating a query or a transfer. Instead of manually selecting individual accounts or all accounts, you can select just the accounts tagged for the particular use case.

Instructions

Create account tags

  1. Go to the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub
  2. Select the Account management tab.
  3. Select the data source and the data source connection to use.
  4. Then, you can start creating your account tags.
    1. Select the accounts you'd like to group together.
    2. Click Add tags at the top of the list.
    3. Give your account tag a name that describes the grouping.

In the Account management tab, you can filter the accounts by tag. Just go to the Filter by tag text box and start typing to see only accounts tagged with a particular tag.

Manage account tags

To add a tag to an account, hover over the Tag column on the account row, and select Add tag. You can select from the existing tags or create a new one.

To change the color of the tag, go to Filter by tag. Start typing to find the tag you'd like to edit. Then, click the pencil icon, and select a new color for the tag.

To remove a tag from an account, hover over the tag name, and click x.

To remove a tag from all accounts, go to Filter by tag. Start typing to find the tag you'd like to remove. Then, click the pencil icon, and then click Delete.

Use account tags in your data destination

In your data destination, you can find the account tags at the end of the account selection. They're listed under Tags at the very bottom of the list of accounts. The account tag also tells you how many accounts it includes.

To split the query results by account, use the account name or account ID dimensions.

If you change the accounts tagged with a particular tag, your query refreshes and transfers will continue running with the new tagged accounts after updating.
