This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Mixpanel data to Supermetrics.
You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.
After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in the available destinations.
Required permissions
A Mixpanel service account is required to query the data. You can create a service account in your Mixpanel Organization settings. Learn more about service accounts in Mixpanel's documentation.
Check which Data Residency your project is set up with. You can find this information under Settings → Project setting when you log in to Mixpanel.
Query types
If prompted, you need to select a query type to pull data.
- Events: Get event data to track interactions between a user and your product.
Connection instructions
When connecting to Mixpanel, you need to provide your account name and secret and select the data residency to use.
- Select the Mixpanel data source on the Supermetrics Hub or in the data destination.
- Enter your Mixpanel service account name and secret.
- Give your login a name to recognize the login later in case you have multiple logins.
- If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Click Start.
- In your data destination, select the data residency and a query type to use in your report, if prompted.
