Using the Query Manager

The Supermetrics API has a Query Manager tool that lets you easily construct the queries needed to get data into your reporting systems. This guide will show you how to get started with building queries with the Query Manager.

Query Setup 

The query configuration generates the Query URL needed for connecting to other systems. This example is a general workflow to set up a query, and some steps may vary based on the data source you are using.

This example doesn't cover all the features available – find more information in our Google Sheets documentation.

1. Go to, and log in with your account.

2. From the top navigation bar, go to INTEGRATIONS → Query Manager.

3. First, select the data source you wish to use – you will see a list of all the different data sources we support. Select the data source by clicking on it.

If the connector requires you to log in, a new window or tab will open in your browser to start the login process. Follow the prompts to log in to the data source using your account.

  • Make sure your account has needed access to the platform itself – for example, a Facebook user with access to the ad accounts you need for the report.
  • Some data sources may use your browser cookies to log you in automatically. If you don't want to automatically use that account, make sure to log out first in the browser version of the data source platform before proceeding.

4. When the login process is complete, you will be taken back to the Query Manager page, where you can see you account logged in under My data sources.

5. Depending on the selected data source, the next selection in the sidebar can be Select account, pages, views, etc. Select at least one property to include in the query.

6. In the Select dates section, set the date range for pulling your data. You can choose from a list of pre-set dynamic date ranges, or set custom start and end dates.

7. In the Select metrics section, you can see a list of metrics similar to what you would see in the original data source. Find and select one or several metrics for your query.

8. In the Split by section, you can set your data to be split to rows and/or columns with different dimensions.

You can also define sorting and the maximum number of rows and/or columns to fetch.

9. You can also apply filters to some fields under Filter, or set additional parameters in the advanced settings under the Options. These are optional, and not required to make the query work.

  • You should now have a completed query setup, which will be reflected in the Query URL.
  • Note - This URL has an API key in it that gives anyone with the URL access to your data! Treat this like a password and keep it safe. If you need to publicly share the URL, use the "SHORT URL" option as it will not show this API key.

10. Click on RUN to test the query, and make sure it pulls the data you're looking for.

  • You will get table view of the results on Preview tab and JSON-formatted data on Raw tab.
  • If the data is pulled as expected, you can proceed to use the Query URL in your other reporting or data warehousing systems. Otherwise you can modify the query in the UI to adjust it and test again.

That's it – you can now select the format and copy the output URL to start using it, or export the data.
