If the Supermetrics sidebar gets stuck in Excel — if it appears blank, for example, or seems to load infinitely — use the instructions below to reset the Supermetrics application cache.
Desktop (Mac)
- Open the Supermetrics sidebar.
- Click the Info icon in the top right corner.
- Click Clear web cache.
- Wait a few moments, and from the same menu, click Reload.
Desktop (Windows)
- Sign out of Supermetrics and close Excel.
- Remove the contents of the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef\ folder.
- Open Excel.
- Reopen the Supermetrics sidebar.
Excel online
There are 2 ways to clear the application cache in Excel online.
Reload frame
- Open the Supermetrics sidebar.
- Right click anywhere on the sidebar.
- Click Reload frame.
Clear cache with developer tools
Developer tools vary between different browsers — in this example, we use Google Chrome.
- Open Google Chrome.
- Open the Chrome menu in the top-right corner of the browser.
- Navigate to More tools, and then click Developer tools.
- Find the Application tab.
- Clear the Local and session storage, Cache storage, and Application cache options.
- Reopen the Supermetrics sidebar.
