How to use Data Blending templates

Our Data Blending templates are designed to help marketers and analysts effortlessly combine data from various sources, turning raw data into actionable insights. Whether it’s merging marketing data or integrating ad performance with analytics, these templates make the process straightforward and efficient.

These pre-configured blends are perfect for Supermetrics users who need to connect the dots between different data sets. There is no need for complex setup or technical expertise — everything is already built for quick use.

You'll need a Supermetrics subscription with access to the data blending feature. Data blending is part of the Supermetrics Business package, but you can run a limited number of data blending queries with Growth and Pro subscriptions. Contact us to learn more about the Marketing Intelligence Platform and Business package.

  4. Click Next step.

Once created, this becomes a normal blend and you can do everything you usually do with blends created from scratch, for example add any data source not supported in the template.

Once created, this becomes a normal blend and you can do everything they usually do with blends created from scratch, for example add any data source not supported in the template.

Note that due to the versatile nature of organic channels, results may vary. For example, some data sources return posts based on the publication date, some on the date when the events occur.

How to use the last-click attribution template

  1. On the Supermetrics Hub, go to TransformData Blending.
  2. Click Templates, and select the Last-click attribution template.
  3. Select paid channels and accounts.
    • If only one paid channel is selected, the blend will be a simple join blend with two single data sources
    • If two or more data sources are selected, a paid channel union blend will be created in the background, and will be joined to the conversion platform
  4. Select conversion platform and account.
  5. Click Next step.
  6. Review the fields. A list of fields is pre-filled for the paid channel(s) and the conversion platform — you're free to add more, remove some, edit the blend display name.
    • With several paid channels, you can open a field to see which fields are used in the background for each data source, and edit the field mapping at your convenience.
    • Campaign and Date fields can be renamed, and the data source fields used in the background can be changed, but the blend field can't be deleted as it's used for the preset join keys.
  7. Click Next step.
  8. Decide how to join your data. You can choose between three presets: splitting data by Date, Campaign, or both at the same time. If you're familiar with joins and want something else, you can go to the Custom tab and define the join keys yourself.
  9. Click Next step.
  10. Give your blend a name and click Create blend to save.

Important notes regarding the Last-click attribution template

Campaign and Date dimensions can't be removed as they are used to join the data in the background.

Unlike the other two templates, when editing a blend created from the Last-click attribution template, you have to stay in the template flow and can't add data sources that are not supported in the template.

If the blend contains only one paid channel, it will only be possible to have one paid channel when editing it. It is possible to change the paid channel, but it can't contain more than one. To add paid channels to the blend, the only way is to create a new blend.

If the blend contains two or more paid channels, a union blend is created in the background. When editing this kind of a blend, it's possible to change the paid channels and add and remove some, but there should always be a minimum of two paid channels. To have only one paid channel in the blend, the only way is to create a new blend.
