Tripadvisor Reviews: Connection guide

This guide gives instructions on how to connect Tripadvisor Reviews with Google Sheets, Data Studio, and Microsoft Excel. 


Before you begin

To connect Supermetrics to Tripadvisor Reviews, you need:

  • Location ID of the venue from which you want to get data.

Your TripAdvisor ID is a numerical ID located in the URL of the TripAdvisor profile page. An easy way to find it is by searching for the ID number after the letter “d” in the TripAdvisor listing URL, see example below:


Main features

With the Tripadvisor Reviews, you can:

  • Check how many reviews and what kind of ratings a restaurant, hotel, or other locations in Tripadvisor has received. 
  • Split reviews by, for example, review language, review date, or by the reviewer.
  • Check the average rating of different Tripadvisor locations.
  • See how the number of reviews and average rating has changed over time.



Location reviews

Please note that you can fetch up to 50 latest reviews (not more) for your locations.

Instructions

Google Sheets Data Studio  Excel Data Integrations
Before you can authenticate the data source in Google Sheets, you need to install the Supermetrics add-on.
  1. Open a new Google Sheets file. 
  2. Navigate to ExtensionsSupermetricsLaunch to open the Supermetrics sidebar.
  3. Under Data source, select Tripadvisor Reviews.
  4. Click Start.
  5. Navigate to Report configuration.
  6. Under Location ID, select the location ID
