Bing Webmaster Tools report building guide

Use the Bing Webmaster Tools data source connector to get information about your registered sites, such as rank, crawl, and traffic statistics as well as link and keyword details.

Query types for this data source

When connecting to the Bing Webmaster Tools data source in Looker Studio, you need to select a query type. The query type defines what sort of metrics and dimensions are available.

  • Blocked URLs

See clicks and impressions

Take a look at how your page's clicks and impressions are coming along. In this example, we check the data for the last 6 months. 


In Looker Studio, use the "Page stats" query type.


The "Clicks" metric shows the number of clicks on the page.

The "Impressions" metric shows the number of times the page has been viewed.


For best results in Looker Studio, use the time series chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last 6 months.
  2. Select the Clicks and Impressions metrics.
  3. Select the Date dimension to split the query results by date.


See number of crawled pages and indexed pages

Explore how many pages have been crawled and indexed. This example explores the data for the last 28 days.


In Looker Studio, use the "Crawl stats" query type.


The "Crawled pages" metric shows the number of crawled pages.

The "Pages in index" metric shows the total number of pages stored in the index.


For best results in Looker Studio, use the table or time series chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last 28 days.
  2. Select the Crawled pages and Pages in index metrics.
  3. Select the Date dimension to split the query results by date.


See average click and impression positions

Get data on how your click and impression positions have evolved over time. In this example, we take a look at the click and impression data as well as the positioning data for the last 3 months.


In Looker Studio, use the "Page stats" query type.


The "Avg click position" metric shows the average click position.

The "Avg impression position" metric shows the average impression position.

The "Clicks" metric shows the number of clicks on the page.

The "Impressions" metric shows the number of times the page has been viewed.


For best results in Looker Studio, use the table chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last 3 months.
  2. Select the Clicks, Impressions, Avg click position, and Avg impression position metrics.
  3. Select the Year & Week dimension to split the query results by week.
