Supermetrics data sources use APIs to query the data, and some APIs have a fixed timezone. This means that you can see slight discrepancies in the results if your timezone differs from the API timezone.
With most Supermetrics products, it’s possible to adjust the product and/or query timezone to match the API timezone to offset the difference. Note that if you adjust the timezone on query level, that will override the file timezone.
Data source connectors with fixed timezones
The following table lists the connectors that have APIs with fixed timezones.
Data source | Timezone |
---|---|
Apple Search Ads | UTC Use the advanced setting USE_ACCOUNT_TIMEZONE instead of the specific timezone. |
Bambuser | UTC |
Facebook Public Data | UTC +3 (EST) |
LinkedIn Ads | UTC |
LinkedIn Company Pages | UTC See our article about discrepancies in LinkedIn Company Pages data. |
LINE Ads | UTC +7 (ICT) |
Mixpanel | UTC |
Spotify Ads | UTC |
Setting the timezone
Note
- In Google Sheets and Excel, you can change the timezone on the query level as well as on product level.
- It’s not possible to change the timezone on the product or query level for Looker Studio or data warehouse destinations unless the connector has a separate timezone setting. If the connector has a separate timezone setting, you can change the timezone on connector level in Looker Studio, and on transfer level on data warehouse products.
- For Query Manager (Supermetrics API) and Power BI, it’s only possible to change the timezone on the query level.
Set timezone on query level
When creating or editing a query, navigate to Options in the sidebar, and add the timezone in the format timezone_<nameOfTimeZone> in the Advanced settings text box. For example, timezone_Europe/Helsinki, timezone_America/New_York, or timezone_Asia/Singapore. You can find a list of timezone names here.
Note that some connectors, such as Shopify, have separate timezone settings. This is the exact same setting as the advanced setting timezone_<nameOfTimeZone> but in the form of a dropdown menu.
Take a look at these instructions to adjust the timezone and fix timezone issues in some connectors:
Data source | Instructions |
---|---|
Criteo | Follow these instructions to set the timezone for Criteo. |
DoubleVerify | Follow the instructions in the DoubleVerify connection guide to set the timezone. |
HubSpot | Take a look at our guide on advanced date settings in HubSpot if your data seems off. |
IQM | Follow the instructions in the IQM connection guide to set the timezone. |
Klaviyo | Follow these instructions to set the timezone for Klaviyo. |
Shopify | Follow these instructions to edit the timezone for a Shopify query. If you're experiencing issues, take a look at our guide about Shopify's timezone setting discrepancies. |
Teads | Follow the instructions in the Teads connection guide to set the timezone. |
Set timezone on product level
Setting the timezone on product level sets the timezone for all queries in the file.
- Google Sheets: In the Google Sheets file, select File → Settings → Timezone.
- Excel: Go to the SupermetricsQueries tab and change the name of the timezone in cell I4. You can find a list of timezone names here.
