How to query data imported with Custom Data Import

Once you've configured your import and imported the first data, you can query the data in your destination using Custom Data Import connector.


Custom Data Import connector works like any other Supermetrics connector and you can find each of your import configurations from the same connector. After you select the import you would like to query, you’ll see metrics and dimensions based on the selected import configuration.


Instructions

Google Sheets, Excel, Power BI, and the Supermetrics API

If you're using Google Sheets, Excel, Power BI, or the Supermetrics API (Query Manager), you can find the Custom Data Import data source from data source selection among all the other Supermetrics data sources.

  1. Select the Custom Data Import data source.
  2. Under Report configuration, select the query type. This selection is the data import you want to query data from. All available imports are available in the selection.
  3. Select date range, metrics, and dimensions for your query.
  4. Run the query.


Looker Studio

You can use the Custom Data Import connector in Looker Studio to create a connection to Supermetrics Custom Data Import and visualize the data in Looker Studio.

Note

Please note that when you're using the Custom Data Import connector in Looker Studio for the first time, you need to create a connection using this direct link to the Custom Data Import connector. After you have used the connector once, it will become visible in the Looker Studio connector gallery as well.

  1. Create a connection using the Supermetrics Custom Data Import connector in Looker Studio.
  2. Select the Supermetrics team you used to create the data import.
  3. Select the data import you want to query data from and click Connect.
  4. Click Create report and then Add to report.
  5. Select the date range, metrics, and dimensions for your data visualization.
