Semrush Analytics: Authentication and reauthentication guide

This guide will walk you through how to authenticate or reauthenticate Semrush Analytics in Supermetrics with Google Sheets, Data Studio, and Excel, as well as data warehouse destinations like Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and API.

Query types

Semrush Analytics supports 5 main types of queries — Domain, Keyword, URLs, Display Ads, and Backlinks — for a total of 35 different query types. 

  • The data source uses the same structure as the API Reports with the same names, so you can use the Semrush Analytics API documentation to find out what specific reports and fields are available.

Before you can authenticate the data source in Google Sheets, you need to install the Supermetrics add-on.
  1. Open a new Google Sheets file. 
  2. Click Add-ons → Supermetrics → Launch to open the sidebar.
  3. Under Data source, select Semrush Analytics.
  4. Enter your Email and Password, and click Log in.
  5. Click Approve
  6. Navigate to Report configuration.
  7. Under Query type, select the query type.
  8. Insert the Domain/s. To select multiple domains, please separate them with commas. 
  9. As an additional filter, you can select the Display date.
