How to configure a data destination

This guide will show you how to create, edit and remove a destination that can be used for transferring data into your data warehouse or cloud storage.

Before you begin

Before you start creating a destination with Supermetrics, see the prerequisites for your data warehouse or cloud storage:

Creating a destination

1. Go to Supermetrics Team Management at team.supermetrics.com and log in with your account.

2. Navigate to INTEGRATIONS → Destinations.

3. Click Create Destination.

4. Select the data destination type, and click on Next.

5. Fill in all the details in the Configure section. Find destination-specific filling instructions here:

6. Test the connection by clicking on the Test button. If the test is successful, click on the Save button to store the destination.

  • If the connection test fails, double-check that all necessary information has been filled in correctly according to the filling instructions, and that the prerequisites for creating a destination are met. After checking this, please submit a ticket to Supermetrics support – remember to include the error message that is displayed when the connection test fails.

What's next?

Once you have stored the destination successfully, you are ready to begin setting up a Supermetrics data source to start transferring data.

Editing a destination

1. In Team Management, under INTEGRATIONS → Destinations, find the destination you want to edit and click on the pencil icon to open the Edit destination dialog.

2. Modify any necessary details.

3. Test the connection by clicking on the Test button. If the test is successful, click on the Save button to save the changes and store the destination.

  • If the connection test fails, double-check that all necessary information has been filled in correctly according to the filling instructions, and that the prerequisites for creating a destination are met. After checking this, please submit a ticket to Supermetrics support – remember to include the error message that is displayed when the connection test fails.

Removing a destination

1. In Team Management, under INTEGRATIONS → Destinations, find the destination you want to remove and click on the bin icon to open the Confirm destination removal dialog.

2. To confirm removing the destination, click on OK.

  • Please note that you can't remove destinations that are being used by transfers or backfills. If this is blocking you from removing certain destinations, please remove the active transfers and/or backfills first.
