This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your YouTube data to Supermetrics.
You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.
After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.

Required permissions
To connect YouTube to Supermetrics, you need these permissions:
- Private accounts: Owner
- Brand accounts: Manager

For most types of accounts and channels, the account logging in needs to be the channel's owner.
Note that to pull monetization data, you need to be the owner of the Content Manager account or your YouTube channel must have monetization enabled.
Query types
Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:
- Videos performance: Fetches engagement data per video, for up to 1000 of the most recently published videos on the selected channel. Splittable by date.
- Single video performance: Fetches engagement data per specific video, defined with a video ID. Splittable by date.
- Channel overview: Performance data for the channel, such as subscribers, likes, and average view duration.
- Geographies: Breakdown of viewer engagement by country and state
- Demographic: Breakdown of viewer percentage by age and gender
- Device: Breakdown of viewer engagement by device type and operating system
- Traffic sources: Breakdown of viewer engagement by traffic source
- Ad performance: Gross revenue and ad impressions for your channel, broken down by ad type
Connection instructions
When connecting to YouTube, you need to log in to YouTube and select the channels to use when prompted.
- Select the YouTube data source on the Supermetrics Hub or in the data destination.
- If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Click Sign in with Google.
- Log in with the Google Account you use with YouTube and select an account or brand account to use.
- Click Continue, and click Allow.
- Select all access scopes and click Allow. Failure to select all may result in the data source not functioning correctly.
- In your data destination, select the channels and a query type to use in your reporting.

Missing accounts
If an account is missing from your available accounts in Supermetrics (including channels and videos), follow these steps:
- Create a new Google Account.
- Log in to YouTube Creator Studio with your original Google Account.
- Navigate to Settings and then Permissions in the left-side menu.
- Click Invite in the top right.
- Add the new Google Account as the new user.
- Create the new user as a Manager (if you're using a brand channel, Owner would also work). Click Invite.
- Open the invitation email while logged in as the new user. Click Visit the sign-up page to accept the invitation.
- Select Use existing Google Account.
- Go back to the Supermetrics sidebar, and click Add connection.
