This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your X Organic (Twitter) data to Supermetrics.
You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.
After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.
Required permissions
Before you can fetch data from X Organic data source connector, you need to subscribe to the Premium package in X which gives you access to advanced analytics.
In addition to the Premium package, you must have the following to fetch X Organic data:
- A completed Twitter profile
- An active Twitter Ads account connected to the Twitter profile. Follow these steps to create a Twitter Ads account.
If the account is already linked to a Twitter Ads account, and you didn't create a new account, set up Tweet permissions in Twitter Ads account:
- Open the Twitter Ads portal.
- In the top right-hand corner, click your account name and select Edit access to account.
- Click Edit access.
- Check the box for Can compose promotable Tweets next to your account.
- Click Save changes.
Access Tweets from other Twitter profiles
To fetch tweets for another Twitter account with multi-user login, you must be added as a Campaign analyst or Administrator to the other Twitter Ads account.
Please ask the administrator of the other Twitter account to do the following:
- Create a Twitter ad account if they don’t have one already. Follow these steps to create a Twitter Ads account.
- Navigate to Twitter Ads.
- Click the account name in the top right corner and select Edit access to account.
- Click Add access.
- Enter the name of your Twitter handle in the text box, select Campaign analyst or Administrator.
- Check the box for Can compose promotable Tweets next to your account.
- Save the changes.
Query types
Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:
- Profile info: Get Twitter profile-level metrics.
- Tweet engagement: Measure the organic performance of your tweets.
Connection instructions
When connecting to X Organic (Twitter), you need to log in to X and select the account to pull data from.
- Select the X Organic (Twitter) data source on the Supermetrics Hub or in the data destination.
- If prompted, choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Click Start.
- Log in to the Twitter account you want to fetch data from.
- Click Authorize app to allow the Supermetrics app to access your profile data.
- In your data destination, select the account to include in your reporting and a query type.
