The Trade Desk: Authentication and reauthentication guide

This guide will walk you through how to authenticate or reauthenticate The Trade Desk with Google Sheets, Data Studio, and Excel, as well as data warehouse destinations like Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and API.

Before you begin

To connect Supermetrics to The Trade Desk, you need:

  • Partner-level reporting user role level and access to partner cost metrics. There might be fees associated with API access that you must pay to The Trade Desk.

Data caching

Here's how The Trade Desk's data is cached after authentication:

  • The data is first imported to Supermetrics storage before users can query their data.
  • The data import starts after the user logs in to the connector, and the import is done starting from the most recent date and working backward once we’ve imported 180 days of data.
  • The import time depends on how many advertisers' accounts the user has, but it can take up to 24 hours to be completed.

These are the estimated import times:

  • User with 1 advertiser account: Around 1 hour
  • User with 40 advertiser accounts: Around 8 hours
  • If you try to query data that has not yet been imported, you will encounter an error reading: “Background report import is in progress. Please try again later.”
