Can I Change My User ID for Supermetrics?

Yes! You can change your User Id for your Supermetrics license in the Team Management site. Note that you can only change a user ID up to 5 times on a license in a certain period of time.


  1. Log into https://team.supermetrics.com/ with the Google User ID set for the license.
  2. Click on the LICENSES tab and check for the license you wish to update under "Paid" filter. Note that you cannot reassign trial licenses and expired licenses.Blue box highlights "LICENSES" section, and then blue arrow points to filter for "Paid" licenses.
  3. Note that if you do not find the license you want to update, it may be assigned to another team. Click this part of the UI to select other teams your user ID is associated with.

  4. Follow the directions below based on the type of license.


If you cannot log in to Team Management because the user name is not a valid Google account or was typo'd, please  submit a support request that includes the payer email or the transaction ID for the license so that Support can assist you.


Supermetrics for Google Sheets

Google Sheets is a single-user license that only works for the one account assigned to it. The steps below are how to change the assigned user to another one.


IMPORTANT - The Google Sheets Add-on does not use the team feature, you still cannot assign the license to multiple users at once. The "Assigned to" value is the only person who can use the license for Sheets.

  1. Under the "Paid" section, search the list for the Supermetrics for Google Sheets license you wish to update. (You cannot reassign expired and trial licenses.)
  2. Click the Manage button.

  3. Under the Users and Team section, click the red Change link.

  4. This will bring up a dialog to change the user. Do the following, depending on if the user being assigned already exists on the team or not.
    • If the user is an existing team member, select the new user from the Assigned to: drop-down list.

      In "Assign license" dialog, blue arrow is pointing to the user in the "Assigned to:" drop-down that the license will change to

    • If the user is not on the team, click "Assign to new member" link. Fill in the new member email and select a team role for that user. In addition to being added to the license, this user will also be added to the team membership list.

      In "Assign License" dialog, blue arrow is pointing to red "Assign to new member" link so that a new team member can be added

  5. Click OK once the user details have been set to transfer the license.
  6. Verify the Assigned to: section is now set to the new user.


Supermetrics for Data Studio

Data Studio uses the Team membership feature so you can change the ownership of the license by adding/removing users and changing their roles. The username originally assigned to the license will generally be the initial "owner" of the team which is needed for initial team setup so that the account can add other users, but they are not assigned to the license directly. There are no Data Studio license owners, just Team owners.

To then add/remove users or promote/demote owners, you would follow the standard team management processes to change the team membership:


Supermetrics for Excel

Supermetrics for Excel is a single-user license that only works for the one account assigned to it. The steps below are how to change the assigned user to another one.

There are no BigQuery license owners, just Team owners.

Supermetrics API

Supermetrics API uses the Team membership feature so you can change the ownership of the license by adding/removing users and changing their roles. The username originally assigned to the license will generally be the initial "owner" of the team which is needed for initial team setup so that the account can add other users, but they are not assigned to the license directly. There are no API license owners, just Team owners.

Other Products Not Listed Above

See instructions above for "Supermetrics for Google Sheets", as most work the same way, just with step #1 looking for the license for the appropriate product.


Specifically for Supermetrics Functions and Data Grabber products:

As the user ID may be a non-Google account, you may not be able to log into Team Management to change it or be able to update it with the Change link (as currently the site checks for valid emails). If this is the case, please submit a support request that include the payer email or the transaction ID for the license so that Support can assist you with changing the assigned user ID.
