HubSpot Advanced Date Settings

To give users more control over how data is obtained and to help address some discrepancies between the HubSpot UI and Supermetrics, we have added three advanced settings that change the date base being used for the data.

There are these settings available, with the following options:

Contacts dates based on

  • Contact created date 
  • Lifecycle stage changed date (default)

Deal dates based on

  • Deal created date 
  • Deal closed date (default)

Email dates based on

  • Email event date 
  • Email send date (default)

Ticket dates based on

  • Ticket closed date
  • Ticket created date (default)

The option selected will dictate both what date field is used to fetch the data for the date range selection and what the standard date-based dimensions (such as "Date", "Year & month", etc.) will use. Currently these only affect Deal-, Email-, Ticket- and Contacts-based data.

For example, if you wanted your Deal data based on the Deal created date rather than Deal closed date, you would set Deal dates based on: to "Deal created date". This means the date range selection will use the deal created dates to fetch the data set rather that the closed date default, and the "Date" dimensions will be expressing the "Deal created date".

This can help eliminate discrepancies with the HubSpot reporting UI as you can set the date base to match what you wish to use instead of being forced to use a default. So if you see problems with data accuracy, try adjusting the date settings for the Contacts or Deals to see if that causes the Supermetrics data to align with HubSpot.

Once the date setting is selected, then you can change between the two values
