The owner of this component has revoked the data source. To resolve this, please contact the owner of the data source.
This error appears when the owner who originally created the data source has revoked their credentials to the data source.
There are two possible scenarios that you must go through to fix this error:
- If the previous owner is able to transfer the data source ownership
- If the previous owner is not able to transfer the data source ownership
If the previous owner is able to transfer the data source ownership
If the previous owner of the data source is able to transfer the data source ownership, please refer to these guides:

When the previous owner transfers ownership of a data source, the data credentials remain intact. This ensures that data sources using Owner’s credentials will continue to provide data to reports as they did before the transfer. The new owner can change the credentials to use their credentials by reconnecting the data source. If the previous owner revoked their credentials, the new owner will need to reconnect the data source to use their own credentials to access data.
If the previous owner is not able to transfer the data source ownership
If the previous owner of the data source is not able to transfer the data source ownership, you can copy the data source file or recreate it as the new owner and attach it to the report.
Report editors can copy any embedded data sources and reusable data sources that they have "edit" access to. In this case, please refer to this guide to copy the data source:
