Salesforce Advanced Date Settings

To give users more control over how data is obtained and to help address some discrepancies between the Salesforce UI and Supermetrics, we have added an advanced setting that changes the date base being used for the data.

There are currently one setting available, with the following options:

Opportunities dates based on

  • Opp. closed date (default)
  • Opp. created date

The option selected will dictate both what date field is used to fetch the data for the date range selection and what the standard date-based dimensions (such as "Date", "Year & month", etc.) will use. Currently these only affect Opportunity-based data.

For example, if you wanted your Opportunity data based on the Opportunity created date rather than Opportunity closed date, you would set Opportunities dates based on: to "Opp. created date". This means the date range selection will use the opportunity created dates to fetch the data set rather that the closed date default, and the "Date" dimensions will be expressing the "Opp. created date".

This can help eliminate discrepancies with the Salesforce reporting UI as you can set the date base to match what you wish to use instead of being forced to use a default. So if you see problems with data accuracy, try adjusting the date settings for the Opportunities to see if that causes the Supermetrics data to align with Salesforce.

Once the date setting is selected, then you can change between the two values
