Since the upgrade to LinkedIn API v2 in early 2019, some users have come across an error when fetching creative details, error message saying something like LinkedIn Ads failure "Member does not have author access to view UserGeneratedContent". This is due to change of permission scopes on LinkedIn side.
To fetch most of the fields in the Supermetrics connector for Linkedin Ads, you only need access to a Linkedin Ads account.
That allows you to fetch all metrics split by Account, Campaign and Demographics.
Additionally, Creative level granularity (content and metadata of the ads itself) requires that your personal account has Page Admin rights to the page associated with the LinkedIn Ads account.
Without Page Admin permissions, you can not use the following dimension fields:
- Creative ID
- Creative status
- Creative type
- Creative Direct Sponsored Content name
- Creative title
- Creative text
- Creative destination URL
- Creative reference type
- Creative reference ID
We understand this is an inconvenience as all clients might not wish to share LinkedIn Page admin access with agencies. However despite our best efforts, we can't seem to work around this problem, as the requirement is set on LinkedIn API side.
