How to backfill data

Once you’ve set up a data destination and transfer, use a data backfill to add historical data to your destination.

This guide applies to all data warehouse destinations except BigQuery (marketplace). See our separate guide for backfilling data to BigQuery (marketplace).

Before you begin

Before you can backfill data, you need to have created a destination and data transfer on the Supermetrics Hub.

Instructions

  1. Log in to the Supermetrics Hub.
  2. In the sidebar, click StorageTransfers.
  3. For the transfer you want to backfill data for, click Backfill. To change the backfill configuration, click the 3-dot icon and select Configure backfill.
  4. Set the start and end dates for the historical data you want to backfill and click OK.

Limitations

  • Different data sources have varying data retention policies, so you may only be able to fetch data from their maximum time range of historical data
  • Trial licenses can only backfill up to 14 days.
