Taboola report building guide

Use the Taboola data source to pull data such as campaign, campaign budget, time, location, platform, ad metrics, audience, and partners. You can also create a report to see which platform or channel is bringing in the most traffic and which content is working the best.

For a full list of metrics and dimensions available in our Taboola data source connector, take a look at our Taboola documentation.

Once you've connected to Taboola, you're ready to create your first query in Google Sheets, Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio), or Excel.

Try these queries

See the following use cases for examples on how to use the metrics and dimensions.

See campaign spend in euros

Take a look at how much your campaigns spent last month.

Use the "Summary by campaign" query type.

The "Spend (EUR)" metric shows the expenditure converted to euros.

For best results in Looker Studio, use the table chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last month.
  2. Select the Spend (EUR) metric.
  3. Select the Campaign ID and Campaign name dimensions to split the query results by campaign ID and name.

See spend by date

Get a view of your campaign spend for the ongoing year. In this example, we split the data by day.

Use the "Revenue by day" query type.

The "Spend (USD)" shows the expenditure converted to US dollars.

For best results in Looker Studio, use the time series chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Year to date.
  2. Select the Spend (USD) metric.
  3. Select the Date dimension to split the query results by date.

See the total number of actions

Dive into the total number of actions or conversions created by your campaigns. Then compare that to how much you spent on the campaigns.

Use the "Summary by campaign" query type.

The "Total actions" metric shows the total number of actions (also referred to as conversions), and the "Spend (EUR)" metric shows the expenditure converted to euros.

For best results in Looker Studio, use the table chart type.

  1. Set the date range to This month.
  2. Select the Total actions and Spend (EUR) metrics.
  3. Select the Campaign name dimension to split the query results by campaign name.

Set up scheduled refreshes for your reports

You can set up scheduled refreshes for your reports created in Google Sheets and Excel. Follow the instructions on how to create and manage scheduled reports in Google Sheets and how to set up scheduled report triggers in Excel.

In Looker Studio, you can have a copy of your report emailed to you and important stakeholders at regular intervals.
