Facebook RealTime public data

I have a lot of problems with the Facebook Public Data source.

First of all, it is not a realTime data source.

Let's say you want to know what is Likes count on a page.

Go and Like the page to update the count.

Check the Like count again, you will get the old results which indicate that super metrics does not send the second request at all, but give you a cashed quarry.

Another problem, if you want to get the reaction count on any post or page post, supermetrics retune false information.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Each data source has their own delays. Unfortunately, only a few of them have available documentation that mention the specifications of delay lengths. Ground rule is that most data sources do not have “live” data, and the delays can vary from a few minutes to even a couple of days depending on the data source. This is something that we cannot control in any way, since these are limitations set by the underlying data source's API.

When you refresh a Supermetrics query, we request the freshest available data at that point and the rest is up to the data sources own delays. Only exception to this is caching of the results that lasts for one hour. This means that if you try to refresh the exactly same query 2 times within an hour, you will see cached results on your second refresh. Caching is done to ensure smooth transition of the data from data source into the chosen platform, such as Google Sheets or Data Studio.
