Facebook page insight - total reach doesn't match with sum reach

Hi,

Total reach doesn't match with sum of reach.

What happen with Facebook page insight connector?

Please explain and how to solve this problem?

Thank you.

  • Hi Noppon,

This is a known issue noted in the Facebook Graph API documentation itself.

There's nothing you can do about it as it's happening on Facebook's side due to how their calculations work. So either make it clear in your report that those won't match by design or only use the Total Reach instead of the sum of the other Reach values.

  • Hi Noppon,

Maybe you are actually talking about a different problem then? Can you pull the Insights export report for the same time period and check the values in that report against our values?

    Please be aware that:

    • Summing daily values for reach will lead to false values as Facebook only calculates for 1-day, 7-day, and 28-day periods. If you split by date sum organic reach for 14 days, that value will contain duplicate users and will be false.
    • Data Studio has some issues with how filters behave. If you are using filters on the data, you may get false results as it filter after the query is completed, so FB never gets the chance to calculate the value correctly with the filter.
