I keep getting an error when trying to fetch my Adwords data. The error says AuthorizationError.CUSTOMER_NOT_ACTIVE @ ; trigger:' I am unsure what to do.
After investigation, this looks to be due to a change AdWords has made recently to remove "inactive accounts" from their system:
This means that your query has an inactive account selected and will need to have it removed to continue to work. We made a change to the error message so it should now give the customer ID and name so you know which account is the problem.
If you have any questions please let us know.
You may need to manually cancel inactive accounts in AdWords first - information on how to do this is listed in the article before:
Then try to remove the accounts from the query (if they were selected for that). If you still can't log in to do this, try the instructions in this article to refresh the account data, in case its sticking due to caching:
If that all fails, I can also try to delete the authentication reference on my side to see if that clears the issue up.
It seems there is a bug on the Google side causing this. It has been reported on the AdWords API forum and Google is hopefully working on fixing it.
For others who may check this post -
Original poster noted they were able to resolve the error by noticing they had an AdWords account not completely set up. Once they finished adding billing information, etc. and then pausing the campaign, the error cleared.
As noted above though, there's possibly another bug in play with AdWords that may keep users that have active accounts from accessing the API.
