Does anyone know if disabling metrics that aren't needed from a connector will speed up the loading process when processing lots of data?
I wasn't sure if Google Data Studio only tries to load based on what metrics are used on the actual page or if it loads from all the metrics not disabled in the connector settings.
I am looking to speed up some data queries since I have a lot of data being blended from tons of accounts and was hoping I could disable the 80% or so metrics I don't use for each connector but wanted to know if it actually did anything to speed up loading before going one by one through each metric.
thanks for your question.
Data queries are made based on your choices of metrics and dimensions, and possible filters (filters being heaviest on the query performance). So, if you've left most of the available metrics "unused", they will not in any way disturb your data fetch.
