Problem opening Excel Workbook

Every time I try to open a file I have I get the attached message saying "We found a problem with some content in [filename]. Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes."

What is the issue here?

Hi Darren,

have you downloaded the latest version of Data Grabber from our website? You can find it from here.

In Data Grabber, there's an option to copy your queries from the old file in to the new file. It can be found from the first tab.

Best regards,

Commonly it is seen “We found a problem with some content in FileName.xlsx” appears to the users due to System file corruption and this affect the office files.  So try repairing it

You can also try to recover the data from the Excel file by making it read-only

  • Open Excel workbook in ‘read-only’ mode > try copying its entire contents.
  • Now create a new workbook > paste the entire contents from the corrupted file to the new file.

Doing this will help you to recover data from the Excel file.
