Can't get TIME_DISP_START_DATE to work

I am trying to use the advanced setting TIME_DISP_START_DATE and nothing seems to be happening.

According to the tool tip, this advanced setting "shows first day of month/week instead of month/week number." I'm using the Google Analytics data source and I've tried all of the week related time dimensions.

  • Hi Rachel,

I see in the screenshot that you are also using the setting to "format results for Google Data Studio" which overrides any of the formatting special settings. Disable that setting and try again to see if that now displays the dates as expected.

    -Thank you

  • Having this problem also, but "format results for Google Data Studio" is not selected.

  • @Tobyevers -

What date field(s) are you using for your query and what data source (if different than Google Analytics)?

    -Thank you

  • Same problem here - that TIME_DISP_START_DATE formula doesn't work.

What's the deal with using it?

  •  Also getting the same error.  Attached screenshot of working with Google AdSense.

  • UPDATE to above:

I removed the TIME_DISP_START_DATE formula, then applied changes and refreshed and now my Page View column is formatted as a bunch of weird dates in yyyy-mm-dd.

The data in the remaining columns is also inaccurate or just plain wrong.

    See attached.
