Problems with Facebook Ads data connector


I have a problem with Data Studio reports that fetch data from Facebook Ads connections.

This is the message I'm getting:


How can I fix it?

    The error means that you are no longer logged into the Facebook Ads connector with a valid user/password. 

    Please try re-authenticating the Facebook connector (force adding the account again even if it exists, to refresh connection), it often helps in cases like this. After the authentication, check the pages you've chosen for the report. 

    Instructions in below images:


    Copy the short URL and paste in another browser tab:


    In the new tab, add new account even if you see your account currently logged in.

    After authentication, please check the Facebook pages selected in your dropdown.
    Finally, reconnect to apply changes.

  • Hi Supermetrics!

    I have changed the password in Facebook account which was connected to Data Studio. After that I have tried to reauthorize in Data Studio by clicking on "Ok, let's continue" like on your screenshot down. But it doesn't work.

    So I have clicked on "Add New Facebook Ads user account" and added the same account. After that I have lost all my custom metrics and need to fix whole report now. I do not like it at all. Is there any other way to make reauthorization?

  • Hi!

    Sorry that the standard re-authentication process didn't work to fix this. I will delete the old FB tokens for this account to reset the login process. Please first log out of Facebook for the browser and then try to log into the data studio connector again. Hopefully then it will catch up to the password change you made and save the adjusted token. If you get successfully that part, then refresh the report to make sure the data updates and its not still showing cached errors.
