Facebook Ads Deleted Items with Delivery

Has SuperMetrics been updated to fix the bug so we can see data for deleted items that had delivery?

It appears that the thread below hasn't been updated since Dec 2016 but I still have this problem.

  • Yes this looks to still be an issue?

  • I believe so. I have never heard of any resolution to this problem.

  • Any updates? Will this ever be possible?

  • Hi!

This is a quite complex query to complete. Our development team has estimated Q2/2018 for possible implementation.

Terribly sorry to keep you waiting for a certain answer on this.

  • that would be great. thank you

  • It looks like this works now to show metrics for items that were deleted within an active/paused parent but it doesn't seem possible to pull delete items themselves yet.

For example, if I delete a campaign, I can't pull data for that campaign anymore. If I delete ads within a campaign but leave the campaign paused, then if I pull data at the campaign level I do see the correct total impressions (and other metrics) for the timeframe, including the ads that were deleted. But if I pull the ad-level data, all of the deleted ads are not visible.

Is there a way to do this that I'm missing? If not, is a fix in the dev queue? Thanks so much for fixing the first issue!

  • It looks like we are able to see deleted items now. Can you confirm that this was fixed? We want to be sure before we start deleting old entities in Facebook Ads (which we always wanted to do but couldn't due to Supermetrics' inability to get that data). Thanks

  • Hi! Facebooks API gives data from deleted campaigns now but there are some restrictions: if you filter the query with campaign related dimensions, deleted campaigns do not show in the results. Remove filters from your query if you do not see deleted campaigns in the results.

  • When putting in a Facebook Ads source into Data Studio, I am able to see the short-lived boosted post ads that I had deleted after realizing there was a typo/whatever the reason was that I deleted the boosted posts. I am able to see the amount that was spent as well as any results, and not the picture (which is understandable). However, the date is wrong...it says "Jan 1 1970" for some reason instead of the actual date it was posted on. Can this date error be fixed??

  • Good question Alexandra. That seems to be the default behaviour for posts where you have deleted the boosting. Most likely there's no way to change this, but if you wish us to investigate it further, please send us a private ticket about it. It may take a long time but we'll check it.
