Google Analytics Goal Names

Is it possible to pull goal names from GA using Supermetrics?

Thanks

  • Hi Eugene,

All the metrics that are available in the Google Analytics, you should find from Supermetrics.

Could you please check their reports list and if you find any that are missing from Supermetrics, please let us know:

  • Hi, Nbiat.

I definitely can pull the goal completions, but my question was

if it is possible to pull the name of the metrics not like
    "Goal 1 completions"
    "Goal 2 completions"

but the way the names are user defined in the UI of GA.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

unfortunately Google Analytics API doesn't offer goal names through their API.

  • Yup, they do through Management API. Please support this.

  • Hi everyone,

We have added this to our development backlog and we'll let all Supermetrics users know on our newsletter if and when these are available.

  • Please can you advise on an ETA for this feature? we would be particularly excited to use it for assisted transactions.

  • I would also like to know if this is actually on development and what's the ETA?

  • I also need an ETA

  • Hi!

We implemented a new feature around this, that we actually return the proper display name of the goal in the field selection display, as well as in the header text. Here's in example of what this looks like:

These are handled as custom fields, so the original goal metrics are still available for now. We didn't remove those as we didn't want to disrupt existing queries that used those.

The field names are fetched when you authenticate. If you have a lot of goals, it may take some time for it to update fully. Please be patient if they don't appear immediately, it may take up to 24 hours. For Data Studio users following this, you will need to refresh the field list manually to get these.

    -Thank you
