City format from Facebook

I am using Supermetrics to populate Google Sheets that I use as sources for Google Data Studio reports.

Facebook returns city as "Montreal, QC, Canada". Is there anyway to split this into different columns (to isolate 'region') based on comma separators as part of my query?

(I know how to do it manually but I'm looking for a fully automated report that wouldn't require me running a macro).

If not in Supermetrics, could you recommend a regular expression that would allow me to isolate 'region'?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

  • Hi Mathieu,

I totally understand your question/request. I would be wonderful to get only the certain part out of it with Supermetrics but unfortunately this is how the data comes from the Data Source API and there's nothing we can do about it.

When we need to separate this kind of data, we also use macros/functions for it.

Different data sources return the location data differently and that's why there's no simple solution for it.

    Best regards,
