Amazon Ads field changes - January 10, 2024

On January 10, 2024, as part of the improvements and polishing process to make Amazon Ads ready for production release, we will be making various changes to the fields. This ranges from updating descriptions to renaming and retiring fields. We hope these changes will add clarity and make the data source easier to understand and use.

Field changes

Field deprecations

The following fields will be deprecated on January 10, 2024, as they are not in use or will be replaced.

  • 1 day ACos → Use the new "ACOS (1 day)" field instead
  • 7 day ACos → Use the new "ACOS (7 day) field instead
  • 14 day ACos → Use the new "ACOS (14 day)" field instead
  • 30 day ACos → Use the new "ACOS (30 day)" field instead
  • 1 day RoAS → Use the new "ROAS (1 day)" field instead
  • 7 day RoAS → Use the new "ROAS (7 day)" field instead
  • 14 day RoAS → Use the new "ROAS (14 day)" field instead
  • 30 day RoAS → Use the new "ROAS (30 day)" field instead
  • 1 day conversion rate(%) → Use the new "Conversion rate (1 day)" field instead
  • 7 day conversion rate(%) → Use the new "Conversion rate (7 day)" field instead
  • 14 day conversion rate(%) → Use the new "Conversion rate (14 day)" field instead
  • 30 day conversion rate(%) → Use the new "Conversion rate (30 day)" field instead
  • 14 days Kindle edition normalized pages read
  • 14 days Kindle edition normalized pages royalties
  • Day of week (Mon-Sun) - the dayOfWeek version

As deprecated fields will no longer return any data as of January 10, 2024, you should remove or replace these in your queries or data warehouse transfers. The new ACOS, ROAS, and Conversion rate fields will be added by January 10, 2024.

Field display name changes

The following fields will have their display names adjusted for clarity. In most cases, this only causes a change in how the field is shown in the selection UI. This change shouldn't affect any queries and transfers for Excel, API, and most data warehouse destinations.

For data lakes specifically (such as Azure Storage, Amazon S3, etc), if you're using the field labels as the header, this will break the transfer. Please make sure you're prepared to use the field IDs instead of the field labels as the header, as the field IDs won't change. Please see About header type setting for data lake destinations for more information and how to change this.

New fields

We'll be adding these new fields on or before January 10, 2024. These are all basic fields with automatic attribution settings to align better with the campaign manager UI:

  • ROAS
  • Conversion rate (%)
  • Orders same SKU
  • Sales same SKU
  • Sales other SKU
  • Units ordered
  • Units ordered same SKU
  • Units ordered other SKU

In addition, we'll be adding the replacement fields for the deprecated ACOS, ROAS, and Conversion rate fields:

  • ACOS (1 day)
  • ACOS (7 day)
  • ACOS (14 day)
  • ACOS (30 day)
  • ROAS (1 day)
  • ROAS (7 day)
  • ROAS (14 day)
  • ROAS (30 day)
  • Conversion rate (1 day)
  • Conversion rate (7 day)
  • Conversion rate (14 day)
  • Conversion rate (30 day)

Other non-breaking changes

We'll also be shifting the categories of some fields to make them easier to find, as well as updating or adding descriptions to all fields to make it easier to understand what the field is or what it calculates. These changes are purely cosmetic and have no effect on queries and transfers.

What you need to do
