Error "User X does not have storage objects get access to the Google Cloud Storage object."

This guide will walk you through how to fix the following error with the Supermetrics Data Warehouse, Cloud Storage & BigQuery products: 

  • User X does not have storage objects get access to the Google Cloud Storage object


Troubleshooting


This error states that the GCP service account does not have sufficient permissions to “get buckets”, meaning the user does not meet the requirements needed to be granted to the service account.


To fix this error, you need to have a Custom role with a Service Account that has at least the role Storage Object Creator for the bucket you want to use for your transfers.

Please note that this error can occur also in the following scenarios:

  • Missing key or a typo in the auth_key field name e.g: project_id, private_key_id, client_id, auth_uri, token_uri, auth_provider_x509_cert_url, client_x509_cert_url
  • Invalid data in the following keys: project_id, private_key_id, client_id, auth_uri
