How to disable browser extensions and ad blockers

In some cases, you might need to disable the browser extensions and ad blockers. This action might be useful if you are encountering a blank sidebar or common authentication errors, for example, This Action is Not Supported When You Are Logged in to Multiple Accounts

Disabling browser extensions  


Google Chrome

To disable browser extensions

1. Open Google Chrome.

2. Click the Customize and control Google Chrome icon in the upper-right corner of the window.

3. In the menu, select More tools.



4. Select Extensions from the side menu.



5. To disable an extension, locate its card and click the blue toggle and switch it to grey.



Firefox

To disable browser extensions

1. Open Mozilla Firefox.

2. In the upper-right corner of the window, click the Open menu icon.

3. In the drop-down menu, select Add-ons.

4. On the left side of the Add-ons Manager tab, click Extensions.


5. In the center of the screen, under Manage Your Extensions, there is a list of installed extensions. To disable an extension, locate its card and click the blue toggle and switch it to grey.



Internet Explorer 

To disable browser extensions

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. In the upper-right corner, click the gear icon.

3. In the drop-down menu, select Manage add-ons.

4. In the Manage Add-ons window, click Toolbars and extensions on the left side.

5. In the center of the window, find the add-on you want to disable.

6. Click the add-on to select it, then click the Disable button at the bottom-right of the window.


Safari

To disable browser extensions

1. In the Apple menu bar, click the safari selector, and select Preferences.

2. In the Preferences window, click the Extensions tab.

3. On the left, uncheck any boxes next to the extensions you want to disable.


Disabling AdBlock & AdBlock Plus

Please note that AdBlock and Adblock Plus are just examples of ad blockers. Other ad blockers work in a similar way. For more generic instructions, please refer to this guide


Google Chrome and Firefox

To disable AdBlock Plus

1. Click on the AdBlock Plus icon next to the browser’s address bar.

2. Click on Enabled on this site.

3. Once disabled, the menu option should read Disabled on this site.


To disable AdBlock

1. Click on the AdBlock icon next to the browser’s address bar.


2. Click on Don’t run on pages on this domain.

3. A settings dialog box will come up to confirm turning off ad blocking.

4. Click Exclude.


Safari

1. Click on Safari located in the menu bar of your browser and select Preferences.

2. Select the Websites section in the Preference window, which brings up a list of General
options on the left.

3. Select Content Blockers. A list of websites will come up with options to turn “on” or “off” content blockers. 

4. Close the Preference window.

5. Close this page to return to the video and click Continue watching.


Internet Explorer

1. Click the gear icon to open Settings.

2. Select the Manage Add-ons option on the drop-down list.

3. Click the Toolbars and Extensions link in the left navigation panel.

4. Right-click the AdBlock add-on name in the list, then click the Disable button.

5. Click the Disable button in the confirmation window to disable the Adblock add-on.

6. Close this page to return to the video and click Continue watching.
