Any problem with all reach stats on Facebook insight connector

Hello,

we create a dashboard and we would like to show the reach over a variable period (with a time selector).

But this error goes up all the time: "Community connector error: Invalid query: running the query would require summing metrics with unique counts. Try splitting by month or week. (Supermetrics request ID: tjl1a0IJkbjq3s_NTqJKLSeoxIRC6gV). If the problem persists report an issue with the connector owner.

ID de l'erreur : 48ed9eed"

Somebody can help us ? :)

Thanks

  • Hi Yoan,

    Thanks for contacting us.

Reach is a very sensitive metric, as it is always about unique people who have seen your content. You can split reach by for example FB pages, posts, campaigns or time ranges (1 day, 1 week, 1 month) and get separate reach values for these. But the one thing you cannot do, is to sum reach of for example different campaigns. If this was allowed, you would get a false reach value as it could count the same user multiple times and the reach number would show higher than it actually is. This mean reach can't be calculated to Data Studio summary row.

If you apply filters to your queries, you are also then splitting your data by those rules. If you filter by say the campaign name, and the filter matches 2 campaigns, a reliable reach value is not displayed as the reach value of 2 campaigns can't be summed.

Why does summing up Facebook reach not work? Imagine there is a user that was reached on Jan 1 and also on Jan 2 - the reach for both days would be one. If you sum this up you would have a Facebook Reach of two, although you only reached one person. Please read more about Reach here.

    Best regards,

    Supermetrics team
